For teens and the people who love them – Wicked Ideas friend and collaborator Rachel Mathis is hosting two, 10-week leadership programs this winter for teens in the Kennebecasis Valley and in Moncton.

Rachel’s company Invigorate Leaders provides leadership training for young people aged 14-18, providing a service that Rachel wished she’d had when she was a high school student in New Brunswick. The university grad and soon-to-be mom (congrats Rachel and Robert!) has teamed up with KV Oasis Youth Centre, the newish youth resource centre for kids in Rothesay and Quispamsis. It’s the brainchild of another Wicked Ideas fave, Yennah Hurley, who saw a need for an after-school and weekend place for teens looking for a place to hang out in a safe location with lots of cool stuff to do and opportunities to learn.

Now Invigorate Leaders and KV Oasis are combining their talents to present the KV Change Maker Leadership Program, a 10-week program open to any high school student interested in developing stronger interpersonal and leadership skills in a fun and welcoming way. The sessions start Feb. 6th and run every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. until April 16. Cost is $260 + HST and payment plans are available. Contact KV Oasis at 847-2383 or email sam@kvoasis.com to register. Deadline to register is Monday Feb. 4.

For Moncton teens, Invigorate will be offering a similar Moncton Change Maker Leadership Program beginning March 11th and running through to May 13th. Cost is $240 + HST. It will be held at the Venn Centre 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. To register for the Moncton program click here for the online form.
