She is a founding member of the B Corp Women CEOs movement, We The Change, and co-lead of its Shifting Capital working group. Wicked Ideas is a Best in the World B Corp Changemaker for 2019.

Lisa is the author of New Brunswick Underwater about the 2018 historic St. John River flood and how New Brunswickers can build back better and adapt in the face of a changing climate. It was the #1 selling New Brunswick book of 2019.

 Purpose, Mission & Values

Purpose: To create safe and welcoming spaces for people to connect, learn and co-create pragmatic solutions for complex problems.

Mission: To help people build movements for change that provide the greatest amount of help with the least amount of harm.

Values: I am re-imagining the public arena for the knowledge age. It is a place that treats people with respect so we can rebuild trust in each other. My success and the success of everyone I work with is predicated on our ability to earn and maintain the trust of the people we interact with, including customers, audiences, employees, vendors, shareholders and stakeholders. To achieve this, my day-to-day operations are guided by five core values.

I want my work to be an entry point for people and knowledge. I work to be a good host, welcoming people and sharing with others, including ideas and the content I create.

I practice strong research skills, active listening, proof-reading and fact-checking with my work; the work I manage, advise, create and curate for others; and in those I train.

I actively seek out and make space for a diversity of perspectives and experiences for the conversations I host, the content I create, the people I work with and the information I share.

Show don’t tell. I believe a great show can move people to learn, think, feel, empathize and act. That’s because we learn best when information is delivered in an entertaining way.

I believe together we can solve the world’s biggest problems and business can be a force for good. I approach all my work with a mix of pragmatism, confidence, creativity and hope.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

In September 2015, all 193 Member States of the United Nations adopted a plan for achieving a better future for all — laying out a path to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and protect our planet by 2030. At the heart of this agenda are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which clearly define the world we want.

Fulfilling these ambitions will take an unprecedented effort by all sectors in society — and business has to play a very important role in the process.
